Jackie & Jon, two peas in…the pond!
And by pond I of course mean Lake, specifically the Boathouse at Mercer Lake! Before we can go there, we have to take it back to yesteryear. Jackie and Jon shared a similar group of friends from college, but it wasn’t until Jackie moved back to North Jersey following her clinical fellowship, that they were able to connect. Jackie even remembers meeting Jon at a dinner for the first time. His calm blue eyes had her hooked from the start!
At first glance, Jackie and Jon are different in so many ways. Jackie is an avid traveler and before they met, Jon had never had a passport, Jackie always has a stack of books to read and before they met, Jon’s reading list was limited mainly to required reading for school, and Jon is well-known for his BBQ parties while Jackie has been a vegetarian for several years. As you get to know these two, you learn these differences work to straighten their amazing yin & yang. Together they share a love of art and making art, being outdoors (especially the beach!), spending quality time with family and friends, and a love of ice cream. With their differences and similarities, they are able to balance each other, encourage each other and be one unstoppable team.
The Proposal
Jon proposed to Jackie while in one of their favorite places – Chincoteague, Virginia- during their vacation with Jackie’s family. They were walking downtown by the bay at sunset and Jon asked Jackie to walk by the water and see the view. They had been out for awhile and Jackie was ready to go home, but Jon convinced her to walk a little longer and enjoy the sunset. Then Jon stopped walking… and got down on one knee! Jackie said yes (of course)! Later, Jackie found out that Jon had the ring in his pocket ALL DAY, waiting for the right moment to propose.

The face you make when it’s Saturday morning and you’re missing your favorite cartoon to be a flower girl.
Did I mention that Jackie and Jon are amazing artists? Find @artbyjackobean on instagram to check out some of her stunning work! The invitation and save the date were created by Jackie, herself!
I mean…what a gorgeous flower arrangement. Kudos to Monday Morning Florist. I’m a sucker for poppies! If only I could wake up to those flowers every morning…
These two… so classy!
I can’t get enough of those red accents on the church, the Methodists know how to do it right!
Jackie & Jon’s nieces and extended family made up the flower girl tribe. There was not shortage of adorable little girl antics.
Conveniently designed into a semi circle, each guest had great seats to witness the moment it all became official.
I can only imagine what she was thinking in this moment. #Priceless.
It’s not just a pretty firehouse. Jackie’s parents actually got married at this very firehouse years ago. Bringing it back to where it all started! But also, isn’t it a pretty firehouse?!
These are the faces of men experiencing 70-degree weather on a March day. The weather was unexpectedly warm, and welcomed by all.
Arriving at the Boathouse at Mercer Lake was awesome. It felt as if one moment we were in New Jersey and one moment we were on a lake in upstate New York.
How great is this modern and clean look at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake?
Note the artfully crafted doodles by Jackie over on stage left…
Be careful what you say when you’re a child, because one day your Dad may tell a whole room of people about it at your wedding.
Friends who lego together, stay together.
This helps to explain some of the shots on the dance floor… ah liquid courage!
Are they double-fisting, or being reliable friends holding an extra set of drinks? You decide.
Scarlet Knights always stick together. Corny–but true.
It warms my photographer heart to see their sign in book full of love notes!
Soon, they’ll be walking along the shore in Greece for their honeymoon! Thank you, Jackie and Jon for allowing me to be a part of your best day!
