These two love birds had each others backs on the hockey pitch and are now teammates for life and got married at Hamilton Manor this spring!
It’s always an honor and a pleasure when I have the opportunity to capture the best day of someone’s life. An even greater honor when I’ve already know them for years. I met Tom a while back when I was playing on a co-ed social sports league. Don’t get impressed, it was basically drinking and throwing dodgeballs around for me. Tom was the league manager and it was his job to cool down all the hot headed 20 somethings when they disagreed with the ref’s call… which happened a lot! I remember being so amazed with how calm he stayed despite all the personalities… and expletives being thrown around. He never lost his cool and always kept things in perspective, it was a rec league and we were there to have fun and make friends…or more.
An E-Mail of Fate…
In January of 2015, Kristen decided to join that same league, playing field hockey, in hopes to get out of the house. This can’t be that bad, she thought to herself. It had been nearly 10 years since she last played in high school, so she was intimidated to say the least. Tom, who was still the hockey league manager at the time, welcomed Kristen to the league. As weeks passed and many games lost, the winter season was ending. Kristen wasn’t going to continue playing since her team chose not to sign up for the next season. So with one season under her belt, and not many new friends later, Kristen was ready to try out a different sport. Kickball it was!
Two days before the registration ended, Tom emailed Kristen and asked her to join his field hockey team. She couldn’t resist. Why would she? Tom, having won the championship the previous season, reassured her that his team always wins. :p
…and One Special Date
As the season started, Kristen made a lot more friends and was having a great time. Every Saturday after the games, the team went to the local bar for drinks. After several weeks, Tom and Kristen finally exchanged numbers and enjoyed their very first date.
Fast forward through 3 years of dating, Tom decided to pop the question at his family’s beach house. Kristen came down for breakfast and Tom got down on one knee over coffee. Then Grandpa came home with flowers and champagne.
Here are just a few favorites from their first day of forever at The Hamilton Manor!

The only guy allowed in the room for ladies prep was Dom, he’s aways allowed in every room.
The nervous butterflies always fly away when the bride and groom finally get to be together on their best day.
Kristen loved the rustic elements of the Hamilton Manor, so we incorporated so many of the fun things they had like this old pick up truck.
How ’bout them trees in bloom back there!!! Oh and some beautiful ladies, too!
Hamilton Manor had so many great spots to choose from for our portraits.
Tying the knot… literally!
Who needs a giant cake when you can have cupcakes!
This was my first time at the Hamilton Manor and I was so impressed with their space! The gorgeous hard woods really elevated the look of the room and made for plenty of dance space.
Since Kristen and Tom met playing sports, it was only fitting that they incorporated some Boston sports into their wedding, much to the chagrin of some NY sports lovers in the audience.
Groom’s gag gift – NY sports team gear for the Boston-loving groom from the Matron of Honor. Don’t worry, paybacks are a b#*%h. I’m scared for the next round of Christmas presents for this family!
Eventually, the rhythm really IS gonna getcha.
This is what I like to call the “bar has been open for 3 hours” move.
This little guy had the right idea – dino jammies. I wonder if I can get away with changing into jammies for the last hour?!
