The story of how Stu and Janna met depends on who you ask. Janna will say it happened in March 2013 when they both attended a Purim event at the Jewish Museum of Maryland. Janna swears she remembered seeing Stu, but Stu, on the other hand…well, he doesn’t quite recall seeing Janna.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Stu’s temple offers him a membership to JDate and he reluctantly signed up. Janna only had a non-paying membership at the time, but decided to fork over the money to JDate when she saw Stu had sent her a message. After exchanging some emails, and learning about their similar taste in NY sports teams (go Yanks, Giants & Rangers!) they scheduled their first date for August 11, 2013. They met at Pratt Street Ale for some drinks, and talked nonstop for hours. Stu will say it was love at first sight, but Janna wasn’t totally convinced. Luckily, Stu persisted, and Janna is so glad that he did!
The Proposal
Stu, the neurotic planner that he is, began preparing for the perfect proposal almost a year in advance. Stu and Janna go to Baugher’s Orchard every fall to pick apples and pumpkins and Stu decided that the apple orchard would be the perfect location to pop the question.
In typical Stu fashion, he had some well-rehearsed apple puns at the ready (apple of my eye, love you to the core, build an empire together, etc.), though Janna was completely oblivious while recording Stu on her phone. Stu then got down on one knee, proposed to Janna and she of course said, “yes” without hesitation!
Enjoy some of the best moments of this very special day.

Balloons only speak in truths. It indeed was the best day ever.
C’mon, Stu! You are not allowed to say the sweetest things after Janna just finished with her makeup!
Give a hand to all the Best Gal’s out there! Stu’s best friend Joanna not only served as his ‘Best Gal,’ but his code communicator and backstage photographer during Stu’s proposal to Janna. Together, they are the “StuCru!”
Janna knew for a while that she wanted two first looks, one with her future husband and one with the first man she ever loved, her Dad.
Although they didn’t go to the same universities, Stuart & Janna both love their Alma Maters. They happen to both be the same school colors! Stu went to the University of Central Florida and Janna went to Towson University.
No matter what time of year it is, The Palace at Somerset always looks gorgeous for weddings and any other occasion. On this crisp and bright March day, we really lucked out with perfect weather.
Can you tell that Janna loves tie dye? A cute and funky splash of color in both flowers and M&M’s made the elegant wedding exciting.
They don’t call this the Grand Foyer for nothing…
It takes a village…Janna and Stu were surrounded with their parents and grandparents when they took their vows.
Mazel Tov!
The Palace’s East Ballroom in all its beauty.
Love all the little details The Palace puts on for a wedding!
Another subtle nod to Janna’s love for tie dye in the reception lighting.
We had to include an image of Stu getting ready to spill some serious puns. Two antennas got married last Sunday. The reception was fantastic…well at least I tried.
Hold on to those eyebrows, this dessert is LIT!
Dessert moves quick at The Palace, so many tasty options!
Cheers! Remembering those good ole’ college times with cleverly named drinks like “Doc’s Mango Mojito” and “Knightro’s Moscow Mule.”
