Cupid truly hit the mark on Valentine’s Day in 2009 when Nicole and Jim went on their first date after meeting through mutual friends.
After pulling some all-nighters talking on the phone, the two embarked on a four year, long distance relationship, seeing each other as often as possible. The adventurous duo enjoyed attending concerts, exploring museums, going hiking, and trying new fun foodie restaurants.
One of their favorite adventures was Ridley Creek State Park in West Chester, PA. They’d enjoy hiking, bike riding and geocaching. One day Nicole and Jim decided to carve their names in a tree to pay tribute to all of their favorite trips in that exact spot. Each time they visited the park, they would visit their tree!
Fast forward to July 2017, the couple decided to make a long weekend out of their next trip to West Chester. Naturally, they ate at their favorite restaurant, reminisced on great times together, went hiking, and of course, visited their tree. This time, when they got to the tree, Nicole stumbled for her phone, excited to take a photo in their favorite spot. As she did, she turned around and Jim was on one knee. I’m sure you could guess what happened next!
Just about a year later, I had the privilege of capturing all of these moments from their beautiful, scenic wedding at Ballyowen Golf Club!
The bride and groom LOVED their pups – how could you not with those faces! – so they made sure to include them in their big day.
Nicole was so fortunate to have her grandmother with her on her big day. They shared a sweet moment before Nicole walked down the aisle.
It was really important for Nicole and Jim to include Jim’s kids in their wedding. Jim’s son was there for all of the wedding day prep with his dad.
Jim’s daughters – far left and far right – also played a major role in the couple’s big day as bridesmaids!
We anticipated that this August wedding would come with lots of sunshine and heat, but it was the complete opposite! The cool overcast formed a beautiful smoky landscape over the mountains. So, even though it wasn’t the weather we expected, it ended up being great – which is a good way to look at life and marriage, too!
Nicole and Jim had a unique first look!
When she first walked out, Nicole got really emotional!
After a few more steps, she totally started to crack up and let go of her nerves!
Ballyowen Golf Club is THE perfect spot for a scenic summer wedding. With views like this, you’re sure to get some great shots!
Even though some of the rock formations were a bit slippery, Nicole and Jim were up for anything!
Nicole really waned to incorporate her dads’ corvette into her wedding photos, so we made sure to grab some cool shots of her “riding solo” for the last time!
You could totally feel all of the excitement in this photo as Nicole’s dad walked her down the aisle.
Have I mentioned these VIEWS?!
The couple’s officiant, Celia Milton, was absolutely amazing! For those of you in the market, check her out! She was super personable, very well spoken, and really made the ceremony sweet.
At the reception, Nicole and Jim floated in with a confetti cannon! It was a really cool way to get the party started.
Fire pits made for a really cozy evening – the perfect addition to a scenic summer wedding!
I made a deal with Nicole’s grandma – she had to get on the dance floor before the night was over! She totally held up her end of the bargain.
