It was especially nice to be back in Morristown for another Morris Museum wedding for Joey and Chris. Many thanks to their friend & bridesmaid Chelsea (also my personal doppelgänger) who found my work and suggested me to photograph the day Joey and Chris became husband and husband. Since the guys live in North Carolina (but Joey grew up in NJ) I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting them until just a month before their wedding. I knew we’d get along just fine though, because Chris shared with me his love of mustard yellow. And anyone who loves mustard yellow is good in my book!

This wedding was so much fun, watching them get ready together, the dynamic was so lively and you can just imagine them growing old together, Chris still tying Joey’s tie.
Super unique bouquets from Etsy! Yay for paper flowers (with Harry Potter book pages, not sure if that was intentional!)
No pair of grooms is complete without some sweet cat socks!
While we were off shooting portraits at Jockey Hollow, the bridesmaids were up to a little fun of their own, with a little help from a friendly stranger who didn’t want to see the girls get dirty. I must admit, one of the best elements of a wedding day is random acts of kindness from strangers!
Fun fact, if you stop by Jockey Hollow there may be a war reenactment that crashes your photos. We considered sneaking over and for a shot, but those war generals are stealthy…so instead we snagged a sneaky picture of our own! Also, those gunshots scared the f/stops out of me every time they went off!
A bonus of getting married at the Morris Museum… you have artwork as a backdrop for your wedding ceremony! Such pretty clouds, very Dali.
Since these guys opted for a smaller intimate affair, I suggested we get a group shot of EVERYONE! I may or may not have been hanging out of a window to get this shot!
‘Um guys, can we keep it together, I’m trying to take some portraits of you two!’ Just kidding, I’m just a little sad I had to hold a camera and couldn’t get in on the shadow puppet action.
Alas, the famous Croquembouche!!! Also, as part of their laid back chill wedding vibe, CTO Catering provide a bonafide hot dog truck!!
A little vendor love for some of the people the guys worked with:
