Few people are able to say they knew their wife or husband since they were teenagers. Fewer are able to say they married their high school sweetheart. Kate and Mike went to high school together at my alma mater, Hillsborough High School (Go Raiders!) Kate and I actually met many moons ago. She was a freshman when I was a senior when we were in the color guard together! After countless hours of practice on the hottest most humid summer days through to the frigid November marching band competitions we’ve been through it all! I was confident that whatever mother nature threw at us, it wouldn’t have been anything we hadn’t handle before (and smiled through!) And now all these years later we found ourselves in Skillman NJ for their Cherry Valley Country Club wedding.
Here are some of my favorites from their quintessential spring wedding!

Kate knows how to do the wedding shoe thing right! Comfy, classy, and super cute! Can I get me some of those just to wear on the daily?
With everyone’s makeup and hair did, it was time for Kate and Mike to see each other for the first time. Kate was beaming from ear to ear as she went down the walkway to see Mike. You could tell she literally couldn’t wait. And neither could Mike because he sensed she was near and did the turnaround peek.
One hazard of getting married at a country club is getting between a man and his weekend round of golf. We were just getting set up to get some beautiful portraits started when we were graced with some uninvited guests… don’t worry, he had permission and also congratulated the nearly weds as he drove through! It’s okay, it’s par for the course, right?! (ok, okay, that’s the only dad joke, promise!)
When you’re so excited… and you just can’t hide it… (yes he lost control and he liked it!)
Shout out to mother nature, thanks for keeping your $h*t together, that whole threat of rain all week wasn’t so funny but I’ll take these puffy white clouds any day!
I swear every time I shoot a wedding I’m shocked at how the time flies. It’s like you blink and the ceremony is about to start.
I won’t often post a photo from the family portrait section of the day. But then Grandma comes along snuggles up with Kate! I don’t even remember snagging this shot, doesn’t your heart just melt?! Also, grandma, did you audition for the part of Rose in Titanic?! She just has that classic beauty.
The best man toast is usually more of a roast with decades of material to work with. Well done, sir!
Cutting the cake was pretty adorable. Kate and Mike cut the cake and you could tell they were both looking at each other, like ‘you go first!’ waiting to see if it was a smash or not.
All the HHS grads in attendance, including your truly.
Grandma and grandpa have to stop being so cute with their granddaughter. My heart can’t take it!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cartoccio and thanks for having me at your Cherry Valley Country Club wedding.
