Bridal showers have evolved quite a bit over the years, and Amanda’s celebration at Basking Ridge Country Club was the perfect example of a modern approach to this pre-wedding tradition. While Amanda’s mom took on the role of planning the shower—a tradition that has been passed down through generations—she also made sure the day reflected Amanda’s vision. Rather than filling the afternoon with games, gift opening, and a packed schedule of formalities, Amanda wanted a relaxed gathering where she could simply spend quality time with the people who mean the most to her before the wedding.

The result was a beautiful co-ed bridal shower that felt more like a casual celebration than a traditional event. Family and friends spent the afternoon chatting, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company, creating an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and completely stress-free. It’s a style of bridal shower I’m seeing more and more, and it’s easy to understand why. It allows the bride to slow down and truly enjoy this special season with their favorite people.

Amanda’s mom still managed to weave in a few thoughtful details that made the day feel personal. One of my favorite moments came from a tradition she had always wished for at her own bridal shower many years ago—a photograph with everyone who attended. It was such a nice full-circle moment to help make that long-held vision a reality and create a keepsake that Amanda’s family will treasure for years to come.

Although the weather brought plenty of rain, Basking Ridge Country Club was the perfect setting for the celebration. The private room was just the right size for the group, creating an intimate atmosphere without ever feeling crowded. Large windows overlooking the golf course brought in beautiful natural light and offered peaceful views, making it easy to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors but the comfort of the indoors. Sometimes the best celebrations aren’t about elaborate timelines or perfect weather—they’re simply about bringing together the people you love most, and Amanda’s bridal shower did exactly that.
