If I had to describe Erica and Lou’s wedding day in 3 words, they would be: Smiles. All. Around!
The happy couple could not wait to say “I do” in front of their family and friends at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ. The rolling hills of the golf course paired with the beautiful sky – really, the sky was awesome that day! – made for the perfect backdrop to their traditional summer wedding.
When you think about the recipe to finding “the one,” at the top of every list is likely something to the effect of “they make me a better person.” Erica and Lou share that piece. During the ceremony, their officiant shared his advice that there should always be at least three seats at the table: one for yourself, one for your spouse, and one for the next person in your life who you choose to share it with. He emphasized that we should never be too busy to help one another, be kind, and love. These are the ingredients for a successful marriage.
It wasn’t hard to capture all of the love shared by their friends and family on Erica and Lou’s wedding day. Here are some of my favs!
Erica had to be one of the most easy-going brides I’ve ever worked with! Wedding day can naturally come with stress, but Erica was all smiles on her special day.
Team Erica sporting their bling…
I’ve shot a lot of weddings, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this beautiful shade of blue before, so unique and so flattering on all the girls!
Pro Tip: Bides, it’s YOUR day! Put your feet up and enjoy the ride! (And get some cool socks to show it!)
After a few days of rain, skies cleared beautifully for Erica and Lou’s wedding day. The bright blue skies paired with the course’s greenery was quite the scene!
Lou was smiling ALL day! Really, I can’t find an image without all of his excitement showing!
Nope, this isn’t a menswear magazine! Lou and his groomsmen looked dapper in classic tuxedos for the big day.
This is precisely why I love it when couples opt in for the first look!
If this smile doesn’t say love, I’m not sure what does!
Erica and Lou were so excited to see each other, they even asked, “Can we kiss?!” Heck, yes!!!
A traditional summer wedding wouldn’t be complete without…
Rain from days before actually came in handy for a beautiful reflection shot.
This bridal party was tiny but mighty. Thank guys for bringing your A game!
As soon as I saw this coming together, I joked with Erica and Lou that it would totally be going over the couch in your living room! I love those genuine smiles!
Every seat was filled at the ceremony – Erica and Lou were surrounded by so many friends and family member in support of them.
Always ready to wipe her tears away, Lou was prepared with a handkerchief for Erica. Ok maybe it was sweat, either way, Lou is a total gentlemen!
The couple incorporated a part of their ceremony where each of their parents gave a silent blessing to their wedding rings.
Erica’s sister and maid of honor, Christina, gave guests a laugh (and some tears) in her heartfelt speech.
We made sure to get a shot of Lou and all of his golf buddies. This photo says it all – they could not be happier for him on his big day, but didn’t forget to bust his chops at least a little bit!
If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for the sunset shot! Just as the sun was setting, we snuck out to the green to capture this beauty.
Christina joked that she is Nonna’s favorite! According to Nonna, she doesn’t play favorites 😉
Hey man, you’re a little too late, I think she’s taken!
The dance floor was packed all night long. Our friends at Showoff Productions knew how to keep the party going!
Towards the end of the night, Lou arranged for a special dance with his daughter.
How perfect that Lou’s parents were the last couple standing during the anniversary dance!
