Surprise Proposal in Hillsborough – James & Bining

James contacted me a couple weeks before popping the question to Bining with an idea for a surprise proposal at Duke Farms in Hillsborough. He really wanted family to be involved, so he made a point to do it at a time where her mom was visiting from China. This was also the spot of their first date, so all around the day held a lot of significance to them.

We had a thorough plan of when everyone would arrive, including friends and other members of their families. He told her they were going to be attending an event in the Orchid Range that day, just another lie in the name of a perfect proposal plan. We’ll forgive him for this little fib. Even though it was raining (which turned to snow halfway through), these two braved the cold and wetness for their special moment.

Friends and family came out of the woodwork right after the proposal to give their congratulations

She was so happy, the weather could not have phased her in the slightest.

It turns out, one of James’ cousins Zoe, a fellow Hillsborough native, was in attendance. Zoe, 3rd from right, and I share a few mutual friends and it’s always nice to see a familiar face!
