Somerset, NJ Fall Family Session

Family

I’ve had the pleasure of working with with this lovely family in years past, but the inspiration for this fall family session in Somerset was the addition of a new little sister! Like many families, during the pandemic, they went from being a family of three to a family of four. With so many changes in the past year, it was finally time to update their family photos on their walls to now included the latest addition.

Mom came into this session with two goals. She wanted a family picture with the newly formed family of four, and the ultimate challenge, one of both the kids together. Check! Our first goal is captured.

Mom thought her son would be the most difficult, but I got tons of great photos of this handsome boy!

Mom was most worried that the kids wouldn’t cooperate. It’s not always easy to get the little ones to both smile and pay attention at the same time but with a little patience, we were able to capture some cute candids.

Admittedly, I’m always more a fan of the candid photos than the posed ones. These natural expressions are the best.

I like to try to get the little ones photos done right away, just in case any melt downs occur. Thankfully, this little cutie was all smiles.

Second goal accomplished! Both the kids looking and smiling! Sometimes the stars do align!

So many parents have told me their kids enjoy playing with rocks more than any of their other toys. Childhood really is about the simple pleasures.
Just making a wish. This location, Colonial Park in Somerset, provided the perfect spot for their fall family session. See what I meant about the rock thing? haha!

This family loves to frame their family photos and hang them around the house. Mom was so excited to be able to replace their old family portrait with a photo that now finally included their daughter.
