The photo book is a very popular option for “loving too many photos.” It serves different functions depending on what type of session/event you’re looking to remember. The pages are printed using heavy stock photographic paper. And I’ve heard from most clients that they are pleasantly surprised at the quality and construction of the book, that is much much nicer than other photo books they’ve seen before.
The most popular print option for engagement photos has to be the photo book used as a sign-in book for the wedding day. After your engagement session, you’ll select around 30-40 photos. Then, we’ll create a custom book layout with plenty of white space so your guests can leave a little love note (or perhaps some marriage advice) on the day of your wedding. The sign-in book serves as a great way to not only enjoy the photos printed (not just digitally!) but also have a personalized keepsake from your wedding.
While brides and grooms usually get an album, the photo book is a perfect solution for the parents. These books usually contain the 90 favorite images designed across 15 spreads. The best part is that the brides parents can have a separate and unique design from the the groom’s parents so they can select the photos that mean the most of their extended family. I’ve even had a couple of MOB’s say that because of the comfortable size, they carry their book around with them to show co-workers, bring it with them to family reunions, and along with them to bunco for girls night. True, you may not have asked for the play by play of her daughters wedding, but you just can’t blame a proud mama for wanting to show it off!
After so many family sessions with the little kiddos, we’ve sat down with the intention of picking our top 3 – 5 photos for hanging on the living room wall, but there are just so many cute ones of the kids being their silly, goof ball selves! I can’t tell you how many times I chat with moms who say before the session “I really want fun candid shots of my kids!” and then when it comes to the order meeting, they order the wall prints of the posed photo of their kids smiling, looking at the camera. The photo book is the perfect spot to keep in those candids that your heart really wanted in the first place!
A spread is defined as the left side of the page + the right side of the page.
