College sweethearts Aileen & Jim decided on Old York Cellars for their beautiful summer engagement session. Former residents of San Francisco and visitors of Napa Valley, they were attracted to this location right away, with its relaxing atmosphere and great view. With these photos, they’ll be creating their save the date cards!
One of the biggest (and most important) similarities Aileen & Jim have is how close they are with their families. Jim knew he wanted the proposal to be around family, so he chose Christmas Eve for the big day. He had Aileen’s sister get her out of the house so he could ask her parents for their blessing. They said yes, and when Aileen got home, he pulled her into a private room. The actual proposal was kind of a blur, but we for sure know how it ended.
They will be tying the knot at the newly constructed Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury in March 2021. Here are some favorites from their summer Old York Cellars engagement session!

How did the engagement ring come to be?
(Jim) Back in November, Aileen and I were in Disney World with my family. It was then that my mom reminded me that she has a diamond that belonged to her aunt that she wanted to give to me for when I was ready. The following week, I went ring shopping with my mom and her sister for a wedding ring to set the diamond in. Neither of us are very flashy or showy, so I had a rough idea of what I wanted — something simple and elegant. After seeing a bunch I didn’t like, I was starting to get discouraged, but then I saw one and knew immediately “this is it.”
What a view! Old York Cellars is the perfect location for a scenic engagement session.
How do you make each other laugh? How do you complete each other?
Recently, Dug has made us laugh more than ever! That silly little puppy has brought us closer together because we really have to work as a partnership to wrangle him! (Or maybe we’re just a silly kind of exhausted from waking up in the night to let Dug go potty!)
