For Jordan & Amanda’s winter proposal, Liberty State Park in Jersey City was the perfect spot, overlooking the NYC skyline. I’ve worked with a lot of grooms-to-be over the years and I often hear the guys say, “I’m going to just wing it”. Thankfully that was not the case with Jordan. He had carefully planned out the day to make it special for his bride-to-be. He scoped out the area before and after all the snow we’ve been seeing lately, just so he was extra prepared for the big moment.
Knowing how hard it is to surprise Amanda (“she asks a lot of questions”), he was worried she’d figure out the plans. He made a reservation for a restaurant in Hoboken and told her they were for an hour sooner than they actually were so they’d have plenty of time for the surprise. Jordan did an awesome job of keeping his cool and certainly acting as if it was business as usual. They made their way to the park and he dropped down on one knee.
Here’s some favorites from their winter proposal against the NYC skyline in Jersey City!

It was a really nice day for February, so the park was pretty busy with other people out enjoying the weather. There were some other photo shoots happening as well so it wasn’t too hard for me to hide in plain sight.
The Manhattan skyline is a classic backdrop.
The classic “spot the photographer” shot.
Jordan’s mom asked if she could give me some flowers and a sign to bring on the day. She was a little distracted, but who can blame her?
This gorgeous ring was from Bentley’s Jewelers in Hillsborough! ✨
We followed up the proposal with a couple portraits. The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal is a great location in the area!
