Gianna and Doug’s proposal was the perfect surprise at the perfect time—a beautiful pause in the middle of one of the busiest and most exciting seasons of their lives. Having been together since high school for over 10 years, their story began after being introduced through a mutual friend and officially meeting at a country concert. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable, building a relationship rooted in shared values and a love for all the little things that make life fun.
Over the years, their relationship has been filled with adventures both big and small. From traveling to unique destinations and trying new restaurants to enjoying wine nights, movie critiques, and late-night ice cream runs, Gianna and Doug have created a life full of joy and tradition together. Their shared sense of humor and equally dramatic personalities keep things light, playful, and endlessly entertaining—a dynamic that makes their connection feel so natural and effortless.
The proposal came at a time when Gianna had so much already on her mind. She had just matched into residency, (big congrats G!) celebrated her birthday, and spent the day before at her future sister-in-law’s bridal shower, making an engagement the absolute last thing she expected. That’s exactly what made the moment so unforgettable—her reaction was pure shock and emotion. It’s the kind of genuine surprise that makes proposal sessions extra fun for me!
The ring was just as thoughtfully planned. After looking at rings together the previous summer, Gianna knew the cut she loved, and Doug helped bring the rest of the design to life by creating the perfect band.
