An Elegant Ryland Inn Wedding – Kristen & Sean

College sweethearts Kristen and Sean had a very 21st century meeting when they came across each other on the dating site DateMySchool. After chatting on the site, they first met in person at a Villanova basketball game where Kristen was performing with the school’s Irish Dance team at halftime. A week later, Sean planned their first official date, taking Kristen to the Penn Museum.  His choice for locations made Kristin realize that Sean would be her perfect match.

The Proposal

On their 6 year dating anniversary, Sean took Kristen to the historic restaurant 1789 in Washington D.C. He arranged for the manager to take them on a personal tour to see the history of the building (nice touch Sean!) Kristen knew he was going to propose that day, but when he asked her the big question during the tour, she was completely taken aback by the timing. I have to imagine that their dinner following was pretty good, but the excitement was so high that Kristen hardly remembers.

Kristen got ready at her parent’s house and put her wedding dress on in her childhood bedroom with her crew of penguins cheering her on. I’m sure the 8 year old version of Kristen would approve the person she’s become.

Kristen’s niece played a big role in the wedding – Flower girl and maker of silly faces to ensure everyone had their best smiles on

Wedding days are hard, meltdowns happen sometimes.

I’m pretty sure Sean’s mom smiled just like this the entire day. To say she was proud of her son would be an understatement. I love capturing the special bond between the groom and his mom.
