When Flora and Matt approached me about photographing their wedding I knew it was going to be a unique and special one. Originally from the New Jersey area, they are now based in California and were getting married in Philadelphia. When Flora told me the idea for their wedding, I was stoked. They wanted their intimate Philadelphia wedding to have an outdoor ceremony, then wanted to traipse about Philly taking photos in the city!
And that’s exactly what they got! Here’s a preview of some of my favorite snaps from their day.
What’s to do in the great city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, but a little sightseeing after your wedding, right? So that’s exactly what we did, wedding dress and all! Even with the heat, it was so much fun running around, stopping at the market and watching everyone react to the couple as they ran about town.
It’s crazy that after photographing so many weddings, I can still experience ‘firsts’ anymore. For this Philly wedding I got to shoot the two types of ‘first looks’ during one wedding day! How does that happen? Why a wardrobe change, of course! But this isn’t just a wardrobe change for the sake of a wardrobe change. No, this was so Flora could honor traditions of a wedding day for both her side of the family and the groom’s side.
It’s like two weddings in one! Such a great time wandering Philadelphia with you two for your intimate Philly wedding in the park and then the reception at the restaurant.
