I love returning to shoot with this family for so many reasons! First and foremost, the daughters are my second cousins. So, being family adds an extra layer to these memorable shoots for me. Secondly, we’ve done so many shoots together over the years, and I’ve loved watching the girls grow up and their overall family dynamic change and blossom as they’ve done so. They are so wonderful, and I love spending time with them.
For this shoot, we had two new additions to the family- Daisy and Roo! This family added two dogs to the mix over the course of the pandemic. I found it so amusing they never gave in to adding dogs to the family when the girls were little but have done so now that they are older. Being a dog person, I was ecstatic about the additions and including these two in the shoot. In this family, Dad is the “reserved one,” but Daisy and Roo have changed the name of the game on that front, and he is their favorite person! Obviously, we included some shots of him playing with the pups.
We also got tons of the girls interacting – love seeing that sisterly bond. And lots more shots with the dogs, too, since they were the new, exciting addition! They picked the perfect location at Bouman-Stickney Farmstead, with so many gorgeous stone buildings and lots of room for the pups to run around.
We also grabbed the classic family portraits and candids with everyone together, laughing and making memories. I can’t wait to see them again!
