All brides want to feel like a princess on their wedding day: the beautiful gown, sparkling ring, hair and makeup, and Prince Charming, of course. For most brides, the only thing missing is a castle.
Well, fear no more, Princess Brides – this one’s for you.
Tucked in the heart of Morris County is the Glynallyn Castle – Morristown, New Jersey’s most unique wedding venue. The three-story, 32,000 square-foot, Glynallyn Castle is THE place for your “I do’s” offering an elegant, upscale environment for your unique fairytale wedding. The fortress features 66 rooms, 19 fireplaces, 15 bedrooms, eight full baths and four powder rooms. As if we aren’t impressed already, there are also 185 historic doors (some even leading to secret passageways), a dungeon with 10 foot vaulted ceilings, and a moat – yes, a moat!
New Jersey couple, Joseph and Catherine Certulo purchased the multi-million dollar property in 2014 with plans to restore the structure as close as possible to its original design and flair. After years of renovations and dedication to this historic home, the Certulos are now – for the first time ever – opening the castle doors to the public for events. Contact Andrew at Culinary Creations for additional information about planning your wedding!
Here are some favorites from my exclusive tour at the castle:
After a short drive through the gates, guests are presented with a full landscape of Glynallyn Castle. Combined with a clear sky – or a setting sun – this is the perfect backdrop to capture the entire wedding party.
In 1987, the property was added to the National Registrar of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
The main, open living space can accommodate enough room for seating with or without a dance floor.
Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou romeo? The Juliette balcony above the piano offers the perfect scene for your wedding photos.
Here, you can entertain your guests with more than just cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. How about a game of pool?
