Christine & Broderick decided to have their engagement session at Colonial Park right here in Somerset County. The session was the day before Christine’s baby shower near her parents’ house and the botanical gardens provided a beautiful spot for their photos. Now a few months after their summer session, they have their photos on display in their bedroom and their baby girl Harper’s bedroom.
The Proposal
In January 2019, they visited Napa Valley for Christine to meet Broderick’s sister. It was a little nerve wracking for Broderick, worried that airport security would out him with the ring all Meet the Parents style and reveal the surprise. Luckily, things went as planned and he proposed (on his birthday!) at his favorite winery, V. Sattui Winery. They were in the cellar, just the two of them, as a tour group came in mid-proposal. These two are getting married in March at Kings Mills in Pennsylvania, very reminiscent of the winery.

This particular spot in Colonial Park reminds me of their proposal story, so it turned out to be perfect for some engagement session photos.
Christine and Broderick browsed some jewelry sites together where she showed him some of her likes and dislikes. He printed out photos of rings she liked to his jeweler friend and they made her this beautiful ring!
Anyone who knows this couple well knows that this is a face Christine gives to Broderick on a regular basis. Especially when a certain someone leaves their socks on the floor.
Colonial Park is a great choice for an engagement session because of all the different spots to choose from!
