Sometimes “the one” is your polar opposite, and such is the case for self proclaimed ‘loud and outspoken’ Caitlyn and ‘goes with the flow’ Eugene. Eugene is obsessed with all things superhero and Star Wars, while Caitlyn can’t stand it. He even joked about having his groomsmen be dressed up as Star Wars characters so that’s what she’d see when walking down the aisle. Thankfully for Caitlyn, that idea never made it to fruition. To these two, their differences are what makes them complete, however. Above all, the way Caitlyn sees it, he calms her down and she “puts pep in his step.” Despite their differences, they’ve always found ways to come together…like hockey (go Rangers!). In short, these two are living proof that opposites attract.
The Proposal
At a family party at Caitlyn’s parents’ house, Eugene called everyone out onto the deck and gifted her with a treasure box. Not exactly the easiest one to open, Caitlyn struggled a bit until she got inside and saw a note and that was it. She looked at him confused, then back at the box where she finally saw the ring and said, “Are you serious?” The rest is history.

And here I thought these were just regular groomsmen, boy was I wrong.
Eugene was all smiles as he waiting to see his almost wife.
Nothing like a nice hot humid day + some nervous jitters to make putting your husband’s ring on that much harder!
The rain wasn’t so interested in having a formal church exit for us, so we improvised. Boy do those bubbles sure do fill up a foyer when we’re in a contained space! Happy accident for sure!
I’m a sucker for a great huge stained glass window for portraits!
We jumped at a chance for a break in the rain to run around The Estate at Florentine Gardens and capture the beauty of their grounds.
This was my first time shooting a wedding at the Estate at Florentine Gardens and I had no idea they had quite the show! Dancing on a cloud with live projection screens for the guests!
It’s not very often we get to hear from the Mother of the Groom during toasts. She did not disappoint as evidenced by the look of pain in Eugene’s face.
No, Eugene, you can’t hide now.
A perfect spot for a night shot.
The final cherry on top, ‘to go’ donuts as the guests left!
