The Wedding Day Timeline

The date is set, the vendors are booked, and the outfits are picked out. The most difficult parts of wedding planning are over!

The last step to a smooth wedding day is to create a timeline. Mapping out the day’s events will help to ensure that everything runs seamlessly without any missed steps or interruptions – and leaving time to party, of course!

Before the big day, we will work together to create an extensive timeline to keep all of the detailed organized and in check. I’ll ask some questions to piece together a guide for the day while including a few tidbits of wedding wisdom – like adding an extra 10 minutes in between locations, accounting for loading time, and the unexpected.

Here’s a guideline of how I typically craft your wedding day timeline.

Bride & Groom Getting Ready · 1-2 Hours

I’ll capture all the small details of the day, along with the fun and excitement of getting all guessed up! I won’t be asking you to pose during this tie, as most of these moments will speak for yourself. Since I always have a second shooter with me, we’ll be able to capture both the bride and groom before your walk down the aisle.

The First Look · 15 Minutes

Ladies and gents, bring your tissues. Here, we’ll capture the exact moment you see your love for the first time on the big day! This is a huge turning point in the day, when most of the nerves turn into excitement.

Bride and Groom Portraits + Bridal Party Portraits · 1.5 Hours

Let the fun begin! During this time, we’ll capture the beauty of you and your bridal party while hair and makeup are still fresh. Capturing photos of the wedding party earlier allows for more party time with your guests later.

Family Portraits · 30 Minutes

I will guide you to make sure we capture all of the family photos you’d like. We will wrk together before the big day to determine a list of desired portraits so this portion of the day runs more smoothly and quickly than expected.

Ceremony · 30 Minutes

Back to shooting from afar! We will be capturing all of the day’s biggest moments as they unfold. Here, we work discretely and quietly so your guests can witness the main event without interruption.

Cocktail Hour & Reception · 5 Hours

All of the formal shots are over – yay! Now is when we really focus on shooting the fun happenings on the dance floor, thanks to a little liquid courage!
