Amy’s grandmother just turned 90 years old and the extended family was visiting from Texas; this was the perfect opportunity to capture the family all together! Amy had one goal for this shoot: to capture all the joy in this family. There was definitely no lack of fun throughout the session, everyone was constantly smiling and laughing. How could you not smile when you have such adorable kids around?
Amy told me after the session she was a little nervous about the challenges of shooting a large group and making sure everyone looked good together. With this family, the ages ranged from 16 months to 90 years old lol. Plus there were some language limitations for some of the family members (the toddlers don’t really talk yet and the grandparents are hard of hearing and don’t speak English). But thankfully I was able to capture some great photos of everyone because a smile is the same in every language. Amy told me her grandpa is often quite serious and typically a worrier, but he looked genuinely happy in the shots. It meant so much to me to know we were able to capture the side of him his family knows and loves.
Here are some of my favorite photos from their session!
