Spring Wedding at Congress Hall – Alison & Anthony

Weddings

Alison and Anthony’s spring wedding at Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ, fit their unique style and personalities beautifully!

Since I have known Alison for a long time, I was so excited to capture all the moments there during their spring wedding. Congress Hall is the first place they traveled to as a couple, and this was the one and only venue they looked at! When you know, you know. It’s historic, iconic, and has significance to the couple- couldn’t ask for anything more!

A fellow small business owner, Alison runs a Lingerie shop in Somerville, Beneath It All. One of the brands she carries, the lovely Cosabella, made getting ready a breeze. PJs are always a great choice for the morning of the wedding for the bride and her bridesmaids.

They are the ultimate in comfort, but they are also easy to take on and off- no messing up that gorgeous hair and make-up when it’s all done!

Who needs to wear high heels all night when you can have the cutest, sparkliest Kate Spade slip-ons around to change into? These babies will let you dance all night long!

The bride and groom’s fur babies had to make an appearance. This was a no-brainer and quite honestly, something I was pushing for. They are part of the family! The pups were featured in the engagement session and were very well behaved addition to the wedding photos too!

Drago (right) is Anthony’s dog, and Douglas (left) is Alison’s. Look at their little doggie tuxes. Have you ever seen something so adorable?!

This fabulous bride’s getting ready space made a statement! This room is the Founder’s Hall within Congress Hall. If you love to be bold, this will be right up your alley!

Continuing on her quest to be a trendsetting bride on her wedding day, Alison wore these adorable bunny slippers.

Her original reason for purchasing the slippers? Desensitizing Douglas to bunnies – which is hilarious- but the reason for including them on wedding day? Ultimate comfort! Wearing your bunnies before your Badgleys is always a good idea.

Our stunning bride’s smile says it all! She’s ready to walk down that aisle.

Doing a first look with Dad is always emotional! There is nothing but pure joy on Dad’s face as he sees her for the first time in her wedding dress.

During the first look between the couple, we found out this groom is a rule follower! I told him not to move a muscle until I said, “turn around.”

As his bride walked toward him, I gave the lovely bride the go-ahead to tell her groom she was ready to be seen. But he didn’t turn- he was still waiting for my okay to do it!

We all got on the same page, and this super sweet moment was captured. Phew!

Now they have a funny story from their first look! Those smiles say it all! How cute are they?

When your flowers are everything. Thank you, Carousel Flowers!

Not only were the flowers from Carousel of Flowers stunning on their own, they also complimented the bridal party’s color palette so beautifully.

The ladies each chose their own style and color, but in the same family. It couldn’t have tied in more brilliantly with the yellow of Congress Hall and the beautiful May weather during Alison and Anthony’s spring wedding.

Wedding portraits for this spring wedding at Congress Hall would not be complete without the infamous pillars. It’s what they are known for!

Continuing with this about-to-be husband and wife’s unique vibe, Congress Hall provided amazing spaces for portraits. Each of the rooms in the building is decorated entirely differently from the next, making for tons of unique spaces (and photo ops!) within just a few feet of one another.

It’s all about the details! Tons of flowers from Carousel of Flowers, unique little suitcases from Dovetail Rentals, and a gorgeous welcome sign served as accents for the ceremony.

Tying history and the beach together is what a spring wedding at Congress Hall is all about. Snapping the iconic pillars with the Adirondack chairs to capture this stunning place’s unique vibe was a must.

Feeling thankful for the sea breeze on this gorgeous but hot day as the bride and groom exchange vows!

Streamers are the ultimate choice for post-ceremony celebrating! Congrats on becoming husband and wife, Alison and Anthony!

Time to celebrate!

Another fun, unique space at Congress Hall. Look at that floor, those one-of-a-kind chandeliers, and the green walls. The iconic black and white wooden floor they are know so well for is over a hundred years old and it’s repainted by hand every year.

Alison and Anthony used a photo book with images from their engagement session with me as their guest book at the wedding. This is such a great idea! And another chance for their pups to make an appearance. I think they were a little bitter they didn’t get an invite.

A custom-made cake-topper featuring Drago and Douglas was such a fun addition to this party that showed off the couple’s personalities again. Guests loved it!

That look on the groom’s face before he smashes some cake in yours (spoiler alert: that didn’t happen).

Dancing the night away with sunglasses and glowsticks. So fun!

This bride was the life of the party!

At the end of the day, it’s all about celebrating the couple and their marriage. Congrats to these two!

Nothing better than wrapping up your reception and having a painting to go home with- what a cool touch!
