The Princeton University grounds and downtown area are an ideal spot for a family session during any season. There is no shortage of locations to choose from, filled with architecture that looks like it’s straight from a Harry Potter novel. Unlike some campuses, the layout of the buildings is close enough that we can cover a LOT of ground during a 90 minute session with plenty of variety, beautiful stone work, iron gates, tree lined walkways, fountains, epic staircases, the options are endless.

The campus has plenty of little nooks to escape off into. I’ll feel like we’re in our own little world.
Stairs are the perfect “posing” element to keep everyone close together. This particular family chose Princeton not only for its beauty but also because it’s where they got engaged.
It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t include the ivy!
For the restless kids out there, we can keep the interested by all the variety in locations.
Moms always say they never have enough photos of the whole family together. Images of the group of everyone is always my highest priority, and ultimately the shot that will make the wall portrait!
Princeton has so many beautiful stone accents to incorporate into the family session.
The goal of a family session is to keep the kids interested and make if fun for them. Most kids would get bored posing for photos for an hour. We want to engage them in activities that will naturally pull out their true selves.
I’m Jenna. I photograph the happy stuff in and around central New Jersey. When I’m not capturing a wedding day or family moment, I’m usually scouring the nearest Trader Joe’s for a new & exciting find!
