Colonial Park in Franklin, NJ is a county park perfect for those that want to take advantage of the abundant greenery, flowers, and architecture for their family session. My favorite area is the Rose Garden, although I usually don’t shoot a ton inside the garden, its surroundings have just as much to offer with the canal and bridge just at the end and some abandoned farm buildings near as well. For young families, it offers plenty of space for the kiddos to run around without risk of any busy streets.

During peak bloom times in June and July, the park can get very busy with lots of visitors. It can be tricky to get a clean shot amongst the blooming flowers but we’ll always find a way.
