Here in downtown Morristown, NJ, specifically the Morristown Green, we can find a little respite of greenery from the city scape. You can see from this image that these were taken in December from the wreaths in the park. I’m never upset about a little bit of holiday decor sneaking it’s way into a shot or three.

A quick jaunt over to Jockey Hollow for some of that beautiful city texture. The classic brick texture is one you can find in any downtown.

The grungier the better, if you ask me! Yes, it’s important to think about your backgrounds, but it really should just set the stage for the beauty in front of it. I can just imagine how pretty this shot would look hanging in their living room with all those pretty neutral color all playing together nicely in the sandbox.

Lines, lines, lines! We love then (unless we’re waiting in them!). Some nice contrasty architectural features are a great element to keep our eyes open for.

Gotta get a little bit of that “city” hustle bustle.

You can bet that if we find a nice set of steps, we’re going to take full advantage. These were the steps to the first apartment together, so ones that were a little special for them.

Alleyways can lend themselves nicely to a nice stroll around town.

When choosing a downtown for your engagement session, it might be a downtown that you frequent together. Why not stop at your favorite coffee house for a couple shots.

There are always a few iconic elements to each downtown, here in Montclair, you can’t pass up the giant chicken.

Downtown Somerville, the place where I call home, has one of the most beautiful, historic courthouses in all of New Jersey.

The walkways in downtown Somerville, NJ have so much to offer if you take a moment to stop and look around.

Downtown Somerville, along with so many other Main Streets in New Jersey, have great wall murals which are always a must stop during the engagement session.
