This cool zig zag background makes for some really fun and funky shots.
The key with making engagement photos look natural and cozy is keeping you guys, SUPER close together. Seated side by side on the very stately looking stone steps is a favorite location of mine in the gardens.
If you’ve ever seen a photo from Cross Estate Gardens, it’s most likely from this spot. This unique stone pergola-esque structure with creeping vines is a photographer’s paradise. It’s also a perfect location for a ‘walking shot.’ It’s the one I most like to start off with to get you guys warmed up and shaking out those nervous camera jitters.
Did I mention that there is always something in bloom at Cross Estate Gardens, perfect for an engagement session for every season?
I’m a bit of a plant nerd and really love this field of ferns! Shots like this will look a little ridiculous if you’re currently viewing it form your phone, but printed BIG on your wall, that were this shot really shines!
Perhaps the first landmark you’ll notice upon arriving is the historic water tower. The pathways are full of all kinds of plants and greenery, making for great foreground layers in your images.
A nice mix of gardens and architecture, the mansion on the estate has a beautiful look back on yesteryear.
The rich colors in the fall makes Cross Estate Gardens a perfect place for an engagement session.
I’m a sucker for texture. This tall grass in the fall adds a beautiful pattern to the soft colors.
