Having met at Rutgers, Bilal knew he wanted his proposal to his girlfriend Yasmine to be tied to their history, choosing “Passion Puddle” right on campus. Bilal had this glass jar filled with glitter that said “Will You Marry Me?” and handed it off to me before the proposal. He had the ring on him, but I planted the jar near the pond for Yasmine to find. They arrived to the proposal spot and she spotted the jar and bent down to grab it, and as soon as she had a moment to read it, he dropped down on one knee.
Here are some favorite shots from their Rutgers proposal!

Bilal knew that Passion Puddle, a lake on the campus of Rutgers, would be the perfect spot for his proposal.
There’s actually a legend to go along with Passion Puddle. Traditionally, if a Douglass girl and a Cook boy go around Passion Puddle three times, they will live happily ever after! The legend has been altered since Douglass used to be an all-girls campus and Cook was all-boys. Now, if one circles the pond three times with their romantic interest, they will be married within a year.
