Chris and Carly first met in college when they lived across the hall from each other in the same dorm. Ironically, their love story doesn’t really begin there. It wasn’t until after they had moved out that they started dating following a night of a few adult beverages and communal guacamole. I love it when an avocado is the inspiration behind a love story! It really is the most perfect food.

Their first date was one right out of a hallmark movie; ice cream from Thomas Sweets on Valentine’s day. It doesn’t get any more classic than that! Despite the fact that Chris does not like desserts (gasp!) and Carly has an insatiable sweet tooth, these two realized they had found something special.

The day of the proposal, Chris lured Carly to the spot by telling her they were going to take some updated photos for their linked in profiles. A perfect excuse to also make sure they were both dressed for the occasion. Carly had been expecting the proposal many times before, so by this point, she wasn’t all that suspicious that this day was any different from any other false alarm.

Chris and Carly’s parents had arrived early to set up flower petals and candles in the shape of a heart under the park’s pavilion. When the bride and groom-to-be arrived, Chris only had one thing left to do. She of course said yes and they celebrated with champagne as their families emerged from hiding.
