December brought the perfect combination of crisp air and timeless charm as I joined Caitlyn and Jakob for their engagement session in the iconic Princeton, NJ. Against a backdrop of twinkling holiday lights and historic architecture, I had a chance to capture their fun loving nature. Inspired by a winter session featured on my blog, they chose this location for its castle-like elegance, perfectly complementing their dream of a fairytale wedding.

Caitlyn and Jakob’s journey began at West Virginia University, where their friendship blossomed into a deep and lasting love. Their first “date” was a weekend at Jakob’s parents’ house on the Jersey Shore, complete with a boat trip, mini golf, and arcade games—truly unforgettable! Over time, their bond grew stronger, with shared hobbies like hiking the Raritan River Trail, binge-watching shows, and making each other laugh through Jakob’s playful antics and Caitlyn’s shared humor. Jakob’s heartfelt proposal last October, complete with a custom ring he carefully designed, was the perfect next step in their story.

During their engagement session, Caitlyn and Jakob’s connection radiated warmth despite the chilly December weather. They wanted timeless photos to cherish and share with their families, and they did just that—each gifting framed photos to their parents as meaningful Christmas presents. Their love and laughter made every shot feel special, creating images that beautifully capture their unique story and the excitement of their journey ahead.
