When you think of a wedding, there are all kinds of things that come to mind – grand ballrooms, a tiered cake, and a big guest list. While this is true for some, there are those couples that like to take a different path. What not everyone always realizes is that what makes the wedding day special are the people closest to your heart. For Maria and Jason, that meant a guest list of 9 for an intimate wedding at Ninety Acres.
On a very special Valentine’s Day, Maria & Jason had their first date at Salty’s on Alki Beach in Seattle, WA. She had given him a Valentine’s Day card and got the impression that he wasn’t interested in her, so she “kinda gave up.” The next day, the day they consider their actual anniversary, he showed up at her apartment with yellow roses, a card, and the hope of a future. He then asked her out on their first official date as they sat admiring the Seattle skyline.
Heading back to Salty’s, Maria & Jason went back down to the beach to watch the sunset overlooking the mountains and Seattle skyline. He popped the question then and there.
Here’s some favorite shots from their summer wedding at Ninety Acres.

Even with a small wedding, you can still make the first look a special moment.
This was their entire guest list, so it was a really fun event to enjoy quality time with each person.
Enjoying some time on the farm at Ninety Acres without getting our hands too dirty.
Lucy at House of Blooms did a beautiful job with the florals for the day.
The fun thing about a small wedding is that you can still have all the elements of the day, they’re just a little scaled down. You can have your cake and eat it too!
Brides are often very nervous for the ceremony at their wedding, but when the guest list really is just those closes to you, there’s nothing to be nervous about, just excited.
The beautiful part of a wedding day is gaining extra branches of the family tree. This was a really special moment where Maria got to hug Jason’s mom as her new mother-in-law for the first time.
Maria’s dad gave a really moving speech and it was just the perfect setting for a quiet and romantic wedding under the candlelight.
The party continued the week after this wedding in New Jersey when the two whisked off to Washington for a second celebration with some friends and family.
