Weddings

Mike and Sheila’s love story began in the fall of 2020 through the magic of online dating, when Sheila’s bold icebreaker, confessing she’d never seen Forrest Gump, sparked a connection (and yes, she still hasn’t watched it!). Their first date was a pandemic-era classic: drinks and guac at a pub on the Upper East Side, seated at a table in the middle of the street. They bonded over Riverdale, New Jersey roots, and Sheila’s pumpkin beer with sugar on the rim, setting the tone for a relationship full of shared humor, long walks, true crime shows, and pastries enjoyed side by side.

Their proposal was a heartfelt moment set in the comfort of their home, surrounded by memories and their cats. Mike worked behind the scenes with Sheila’s sister to plan the surprise, originally hoping to get her out of the apartment for setup. After a few scheduling curveballs, plan B worked: Sheila returned to find their space filled with photos from over the years, and Mike got down on one knee. The ring, a vintage-inspired gold and pearl piece, was thoughtfully chosen with input from Sheila’s late best friend Rob, adding a deeply meaningful touch to the moment.

As native New Jerseyans, Mike and Sheila knew they wanted to get married in their home state. They fell in love with the charm of Lambertville, a picturesque river town with plenty to offer their out-of-town guests. Their venue featured views of the Delaware River and New Hope and glowing recommendations from friends who had celebrated there before. It was the perfect setting for a weekend of joy, laughter, and love.

Leading up to the big day, Sheila looked forward to bustin’ a move on the dance floor with all their favorite people and that tres leches cake at the after party, while Mike was most excited about having all their loved ones in one place.  Their day was a true reflection of who they are as a couple—thoughtful, grounded, silly, and deeply devoted to each other. As a fellow lover of tres leches, it was just the cherry on top of working with this sweet couple.

Congratulations, Mike and Sheila! Your wedding was full of love, personality, and unforgettable moments. Wishing you a future filled with crossword puzzles, spontaneous dance breaks, and the mystery of a box of chocolates 😉
