Brian and Gabrielle’s proposal took place on a beautiful September day at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, a stunning location known for its serene gardens and picturesque landscapes. Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant blooms, the couple shared a special moment that will be cherished forever. As Brian dropped to one knee, the beauty of the rose garden added to the magic of the proposal, creating an unforgettable memory.

Proposal shoots are such a beautiful way to capture the raw emotion and excitement of the new chapter that is unfolding. For couples considering a proposal shoot, choosing a location that holds personal significance or offers a naturally beautiful backdrop is key. Whether it’s a park, garden, beach, or even a cityscape, the setting plays a huge role in making the photos feel special and unique to bring you back to that moment. I often recommend planning the proposal around soft, natural lighting, such as early morning or golden hour in the late afternoon, which brings warmth and romance to the images. I also strongly suggest if you’re planning a proposal, to consider an off peak time. Many of the popular locations for proposals are quite busy on a weekend and don’t always allow for the moment to be very private. When we chat beforehand to solidify the plan I can help with the details like positioning so we can ensure that we’ll see both the bride-to-be and the groom-to-be in that moment when he goes down on his knee. Couples are encouraged to simply enjoy the moment, trust the process, and let their emotions shine—because those genuine reactions make for the most stunning photos.
