When I first met Kristen, her husband-to-be was still in Afghanistan in the Army. So I didn’t get to meet him until I was actually taking his photo at their engagement session. That was when I saw for myself just how perfect Zack and Kristen are for each other. Most of my sessions are usually spent helping my brides and grooms warm up a bit – they are often nervous being photographed for the first time – but not these guys. I laughed just as much as they did, they were so affectionate and cuddly around each other I felt like I was just along for the ride.
Come time for the wedding day I knew it would be just as much fun as the first time around. You can’t help but smile when you are with these two and it was an honor to be a part of their day! But enough talking already, take a look for yourself at some of their photos from their Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial wedding.
Of course, Zack wore his Army uniform to his wedding. A nice way to add a personal touch to the wedding!
Real brides give high fives!
The fabulous Jill at Carousel of Flowers in Somerville, NJ crafted Kristen’s bouquet.
Kristen’s grandfather’s Corvette is very special to her family. I realized this when Zack jokingly said to Kristen’s dad, “George, wait, are we allowed to touch the car?!”
A favorite photo location for wedding photos – the Red Mill in Clinton, NJ
Then we boogied on over to the venue to shoot in front of the gorgeous architecture of The Farmhouse at Grand Colonial.
I’m not sure if the Army would sanction the use of your sword for cake cutting. I think they might make an exception since it’s a wedding cake though!
One of the more photogenic desserts, Bananas Foster Flambé… or as I like to call it, bananas on fire!
