Jun and Kassy met through Greek Life at UConn with a meet-cute fit for the classic college romance movies. Jun approached Kassy and they began drawing random pictures on the classroom whiteboard together. That first meeting turned into many shared meals in the campus dining hall, and they say that even then – before they officially began dating – they both knew the other was the one.
The newlyweds had their first official date at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, a place Kassy frequented during her childhood. The two were buzzing with excitement that their close friendship had turned to more, so I imagine they spent more time stealing glances at each other than they did looking at the sea life!
Now, the bride and groom spend time doing everything together from watching movies to taking road trips and listening to true crime podcasts! They have many of the same interests and opinions – except when it comes to mint ice cream – Kassy is on Team Mint and Jun believes it’s the devil’s dessert.
You can really tell that they are best friends as much as they are husband and wife. In fact, they’ve said that they’ve curated quite the impressive inside joke catalog over time!
For the proposal, Jun surprised Kassy at Rocky Neck beach in southern Connecticut, a beach she and her family have gone to every year since her childhood – another sentimental spot for these two! Jun brought a gaggle of 15 of their closest friends and disguised the event as just a regular summer beach trip. As they were all taking couples’ photos on a terrace overlooking the beach, Jun bent the knee and popped the question in front of all of their friends and her parents!
He nailed Kassy’s ring preference, with a simple, clean, and traditional design, though Jun says he did have lots of help from his mother and sister.
Their wedding has a similar vibe with classic, beautiful colors like cabernet red, white, and pink, and plenty of arbor, vines and greenery. Their venue, Forest Lodge in Warren, NJ, has a beautiful outdoor spot with plenty of surrounding greenery, making it feel like an enchanted forest.
The bride and groom couldn’t wait to spend their wedding night dancing with their best friends and closest family!
