By far one of my favorite go to places for a family session, this Somerville park doesn’t actually have a name. It’s home to some township ball fields and a playground and is located across the street from the Somerville YMCA. Upon first glance, a client once said they weren’t sure they are at the right place when they pulled up.
Once you walk past the sports field, you’ll find a river, part of Peter’s Brook Greenway running along the base of a cliff. We’ll hop across the street and grab some shots along the park pathway and see if we can find anything blooming in Van Fleet Gardens.

Sometimes just the simple elements of a pretty white fence and a nice canopy of trees is all you need.
A long line of trees line Peter’s Brook along with a more rustic fence.
More than meets the eye at first, this park is adjacent to the face of a huge cliff.
You won’t even notice the stone on the overpass until you explore this park more closely.
A little fun in the river never hurt anybody, right?! If the water level is just right we’ll grab a couple shots surrounded by the river banks. This Somerville Park has so many options for your engagement session.
I personally recommend wearing something comfortable and easy to move in so you can be your natural self. This low key park compliments a casual wardrobe. I promise it’ll be a real walk in the park. #dadjoke
I love a good reflection in the water! This is the shot that goes BIG on the wall!
