Engagement Session Location | Nevius Street Bridge Raritan, NJ

Connecting Raritan, NJ and Hillsborugh, NJ, the Nevius Street Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that is on the National Register of Historic Places, perfect for your engagement session. The nearby water pumping station, which looks more like a castle than a utility building, was built in 1900 and also serves as a great background with pretty stone facade.

As of 2020, new trails have also been paved on the Hillsborough side connecting it to Duke Farms. The bridge and its surroundings offer up so many different looks in a small area that we can cover a lot of ground throughout the 90 minute family session.

Even in the off season, it’s a great choice for an engagement session since we aren’t relying solely on the greenery.

The soft yellows and blues of winter have their own charm.

I always try to sneak the Raritan River into a few shots.

Above all, the main focus of the engagement session is get you used to the feeling of being in front of a camera. Capturing beautiful photos might seem like the obvious purpose, but it’s more about the experience. We’ll shift the focus from “OMG I’m so awkward in front of the camera!” to “Oh this isn’t so bad, it’s just us hanging out.” That’s when we’ll get the most natural photos and you’ll feel confident that the wedding day photos will be exactly what you’ve dreamed of.
