Emily and Michael were destined to meet. Growing up in the same town less than 3 miles apart, they never knew the other person even existed. They finally met 200 miles away from home as students at Penn State, it seemed like fate. They quickly bonded over their love of the school and found that their personalities complimented each other perfectly.
The Proposal
In February 2018, Emily and Michael took a trip to Penn State (of course) for her birthday weekend. Walking to meet up with his parents, they decided to walk past the Lion Shrine, where Michael dropped down to one knee to ask the big question. In another turn of fate, the Shrine, which is usually crawling with people trying to take pictures, was completely empty, providing them with a private moment all their own.
I think these two would attest to the Penn State motto of “Making Life Better.” Here’s some favorites from the two Nittany Lions at United Methodist and The Ryland Inn.

The beautiful invitations and all signage was created by the groom’s sister, Aly
Obviously they had to tie in as many little Penn State details as possible.
The girls got ready at the cottage at the Ryland Inn Coach House.

A sweet way to keep special relatives who are in heaven close to your heart – Mike kept this photo in his pocket of his grandmother.
Can you feel the excited butterflies?!?! We had a lot of self proclaimed criers on our hands!
Father Ron was the perfect person to marry Emily and Mike since he’d known Emily since she was little.
Since it basically rained the entire month of May, we had some gorgeous flowers to dance in during portraits!
Just a pair of Nittany Lions at the beautiful Ryland Inn.
When the happy couple makes their first entrance as husband and wife, especially like THIS, you know it’s time to party!
The best man speech – always a wild card. Love that look on Mike’s face!!!
Lots of Nittany Lions in the crowd! Now they’ll be cheering WE ARE MARRIED!
More of Aly’s beautiful handy work…
Well, the bouquet started as one bunch… and then it exploded into a firework of flowers, more to go around, right?!
You get a flower, and YOU get a flower, and YOU get a flower!
Can you guess which song they are dancing to?
But, oh, those summer niiiiiiights!
I was warned, “ain’t no party like a Williams party.” I was not disappointed!
