Cross Estate Gardens Engagement – Maddy & David

Engagements

Maddy and David both love adventure and soon they’ll go on the greatest adventure together yet: getting married! Now that their fall engagement session at Cross Estate Gardens is done, they’re one step closer.

Their relationship started as a beautiful friendship and over time David just became the person Maddy wanted to tell things to first, anything big or small, good or bad. As they got closer, David realized everything was always better when Maddie was present. He said he knew they had something special before they even started dating.

These two first met at a kayak shop working together in Santa Cruz, California.

Their first date sounds like it was straight out of a romance movie. They went snorkeling in Monterey in the morning, then rock scrambling in Big Sur, then dinner with friends and a gorgeous walk on the beach.

The adventures never stop for Maddy and David. Together they enjoy walks by the river, paddling, cross country skiing, and really as much outside time as possible.

The summer David started ring shopping was the same summer as Hurricane Ida. The ring was ready the day of the storm but David was too excited to wait so he drove up the Turnpike to pick it up after work. As Ida turned out to be insane he got stuck on the Turnpike from 8pm until 4:30am. He slept in his car stuck on the turnpike during one of the worst hurricanes. That’s true love right there.

David finally gave the ring to Maddy at a Storm King Art Center in New York when he proposed on a trail near the river.

David said his favorite thing about his future wife is the way she lights up every room she walks in to.

Maddy said her favorite thing about David is how caring he is, but if he’s hungry he’ll get very sassy. I hear you man, I get hangry, too!

Both Maddy and David were super excited about their engagement shoot because they are often living in the moment and therefore don’t always stop to take a photo together. Now they finally have lots of images showcasing their love for each other.

They plan to use photos from their engagement session at Cross Estate Gardens to decorate the walls of their home and for a photo book to remember the times. The engagement photos are timeless.
