Backyard Summer Family Session – The Brown Family

Family

Summer fun as a kid means no school, playing in the backyard until sundown and late bedtimes. It’s a time we remember fondly and want to capture. Mom wanted a fun session that incapsulated the true meaning of summer. Grandma lives out of town in California and was planning a visit so it was the perfect opportunity for a family photo session so we could include her in the fun.

One of Grandma’s favorite activities is baking with her grandkids. The day before the shoot they were in the kitchen baking delicious cookies together. The kiddos got the chance to decorate their creations before munching on them with grandma.

The kids love to go in the backyard and play on their jungle gym.

I had so much fun being able to capture the kids in their natural state, running around, having fun, and acting goofy.

When he’s not running around on his jungle gym, Ben enjoys jamming out on his guitar.

A requirement of being in this family is knowing how to have fun and being able to act silly together.

This backyard summer family session was so fun to shoot because the Browns’ brought so much energy and life into the session.

Good thing dad is always there to catch Juliet when she falls, even her feet are still touching the ground.

Whenever dad was doing yard work, the kids would go out into the backyard to help him.  What started as yard work would always end with dad pushing the kids around the yard in the wheelbarrow.

What’s a wheelbarrow ride without a grand exit?!

What better way to end a hotter summer’s day than with rocket pops. Mom took the kids, dressed them in white, and said “get dirty, be a kid, have fun.”

Mom and Grandma both ordered a collection of wall prints, so they can enjoy these memories each and every day.
