A Delaware River Wedding – Alyssa & Harrison

Weddings

When Harrison first moved to New Jersey from Minnesota and met Alyssa, he told her he was missing the scenery of his home state. Wanting to prove to him that New Jersey has its own beauty, she chose a walk on the towpath along the Delaware River as their first date. Little did Alyssa know, Harrison was missing a Vikings game at that very moment. This guys sure understands the true meaning of sacrifice! It only made sense that their story would come full circle back to the place where it all began. Since then, Alyssa and Harrison have enjoyed many weekends hiking and exploring the river towns with their dog, Miko.

The Proposal

On a walk in Lambertville down the canal on the Delaware River, supposedly on their way to a pizza dinner, Alyssa discovered that Harrison had set up a private nook of the canal with flowers and proposed to her right there. After she said yes, her whole family (including their dog Miko) popped out of the bushes to celebrate with them! Now, they never did get that pizza, but Alyssa would agree that getting engaged more than made up for it.

Here are some favorites from their wedding on the Delaware River.

What else do you expect someone to do when they walk into a fancy bathroom?

Happy to work alongside Gina from Proud to Plan which meant Alyssa wasn’t stressed about the details and always had what she needed!

Since their fur baby Miko was at their engagement session, I knew there was no way he wasn’t going to be present in some way at the wedding. Nicely done, Harrison.

The cutest little delivery person, Blake delivered the notes from bride to groom.

I’d love to hear the back stories behind all these sock choices, especially that David statue one.

Miko appearance #2, by far the best ice sculpture I’ve ever seen!

So much history here, they obviously had to do a Delaware River wedding, right?

It’s always a nice touch to get to hear from the guests of honor.
